Spot Removal Guide
General Spotting Instructions:
Use this quick reference guide to select the appropriate spotting product. Read all instructions and cautions on cans before use. Some spots cause permanent staining of the fiber and cannot be removed. Consult your Chem-Dry carpet-cleaning professional for spots that are not removed by these products.
Pre-test the product to be used on a small and inconspicuous area by applying a small amount of product to the carpet or fabric. Blot area with a white cloth, checking for color transfer or appearance changes. Allow area to dry completely to check for color bleeding. Not that some fibers or fabrics may be damaged by vigorous rubbing.
Most spots are easier to remove when fresh. Remove as much surface spot material as possible. If the type of spot is unknown, first try Grease & Oil remover, and then use Spot Remover. Apply product according to instruction. Gently blot with a clean, white absorbent cloth. For large spots, work from the outside edge into the center of the spot. Additional blotting or gentle agitation on the area surrounding the spot will help prevent rings. Difficult spots may require additional application. Lightly brush carpet to align fibers when finished.
